Clinical Consultation

I provide individual and group consultation to mental health professionals who are seeking to enhance their clinical skills around working with clients who have eating disorders, OCD, anxiety and panic disorders, and trauma. As a seasoned cognitive behavioral therapist, I consult with many clinicians who are working towards developing an expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have also consulted with newer clinicians who are working towards their CBT certification through the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

National Association of Social Workers – Massachusetts Chapter Symposium 2018: On the Front Lines

Date: April 12, 2018

We will examine three main eating disorders; anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Develop an understanding of the biopsychosocial framework for the development of an eating disorder, questions to ask during assessment, and the use of evidence based treatments.

Workshop: Starting Your Private Practice

National Association of Social Workers – Massachusetts Chapter Symposium 2018: On the Front Lines

This workshop is for professionals who are interested in starting a private practice or who already have a private practice and want to grow and enhance their business. In this half-day workshop clinicians will develop skills to market their practice, navigate through billing and insurance panel. Participants will emerge with a basic understanding of how to start, grow, and maintain a successful private practice, develop a marketing niche, and successfully run a business.

Workshop: Demystifying and Treating Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)

Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association Annual National Conference 2018

This workshop is designed to educate clinicians about the complexities of working with clients with BDD. We will discuss how to assess for BDD, how it overlaps with eating disorders, why individuals develop the disorder, and evidence based treatments for BDD. In addition, we will discuss both overt and subtle safety and treatment interfering behaviors which contribute to and maintain the disorder. A case presentation, as well as hands on exercises and exposures will be incorporated into the workshop.

Workshop: Compassion Fatigue and Burnout

Developing a Mindfulness Practice to Promote Health and Wellness for the Caregiver

This workshop explores common symptoms related to compassion fatigue and caregiver burnout. Discussion will include the importance of self-care, setting appropriate boundaries, boosting resiliency, and other positive coping strategies to manage common conditions that caregivers experience. Presenters will introduce hands-on tools to manage stress which include mindfulness, gentle yoga therapy, and simple breathing techniques.

Workshop: Treating Eating Disorders: Integrating Psychotherapy and Nutrition

In this workshop sponsored by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), participants will learn about the different types of eating disorders, the etiology, and treatment of the disorder. Learn how to assess for eating disorders and how to address the many issues which accompany the disorder. Different types of treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy, traditional psychotherapy, and mindfulness will be addressed.
